Bug Baubles...

Victorians loved their insect and nature inspired jewelry, and so do I!!! You will notice it is a recurring theme in my work and I find great inspiration from all things that once crawled, fluttered or flew. Victorian's inspiration for their insect jewelry came from the openings of natural history museums, Victoria and Albert's stunning Crystal Palace Exposition of the late 1800's, and explorations of faraway islands abroad. It was not uncommon for women of the time period to wear real authentic bugs on their lapels, ear lobes, or even in their locks....

Sweet French Bits...



Just returned from my little mountain break and was so happy to come home to things blooming in my back yard and this sweet little treasure chest sitting in my mail box....




I am so thrilled and happy to profess....I won something!!!! I am talking about "A Little Bit French" blog's Friday giveaway. Just look at these stunning little treasures Rhonda from "A Little Bit French" put together. Sweet French bezels, fleur de lis, stunning old French images and beautiful bits of rhinestones and old tatting all creatively stuffed in a tin and glass container! Thank you Miss Rhonda!!!! I will have a blast getting creative with these inspiring little pieces!
