An Obsession...

I wanted to share with you this post an obsession of mine...
Vintage and antique rings!
I have been collecting them for many years and my collection has grown wild. I don't know what possesses me to crave so many of these sweet little finger jewels! I only have 10 fingers to display them on and, really, actually 9 if you were to exclude my wedding ring finger.
Here is a little peek (and some of my faves) into a small little part of my collection...

This antique black jet glass cameo is huge and so much fun to wear....

The thing that fascinated me most about the ring below was the workmanship that went into the details underneath the ring. A part of the ring no one ever sees but the person who wears it....

A gorgeous sterling religious bird ring taken from an old religious casting...

...an Edwardian beauty in aqua...

I LOVE anything moss agate!
And this old Victorian gold agate piece does not disappoint. Just look how the agate glows and comes to life in this ring...

A Deco blue topaz beauty....love the clean bezel setting in this one....

One of my very favorite rings that I happen to wear all the time, a stunning rock crystal Georgian gold band, circa late 1700's...

...look at the way the crystals are set, old school style, with beautiful scrolled engravings on the shank...

...another favorite of mine....a sterling, circa mid 1800's, dove ring that I found on one of my trips to England. Love, Love, Love, him! He is very special to me....

My favorite stone...Rubies!
I nearly fainted when I found the old gold Victorian men's ruby ring, pictured on the right....
The angels were singing the day that gorgeous gem was found!

Two sweet little Victorian butterfly wing rings....

An old pocket watch ring. The domed gold piece was molded and banded from an old man's pocket watch part. Interesting and very unique....

A fun old sterling filigree ball ring...

...prong set brass and art glass, circa 1930's....

...and a few whimsical pieces that feature cute little critters...

Taking a short break from the bench this week to celebrate America's birthday. See you back here real soon with a report from my mountain happy place!

I totally understand obsessions, trust me!!! Your collection of antique rings are dreamy. It is the details of any piece of jewelry that catches my eye every single time.

Trying to stay cool, as we jumped from 80 degrees right into 100 degrees and warmer.
