Greetings From The Mountains...

Hello BlogLand! Still enjoying my 'happy place' for the last trip of the summer. Will be home this week with new designs coming. I'm well rested and just itching to get back to the design desk! Here's a little peek at what I have been up to the past couple weeks...

Spending time at my favorite, (and in my opinion) the most beautiful national park in the country....

Cataloochee Valley...

Where the Elk roam free...and...very close to the camera...

...this old male elk just got finished fussin' at one of his many wives...

...he was herding his large family through the valley with these loud and bellowing howls, it was incredible to see and hear!
The picture below is me channeling my inner cowgirl....I really LOVE the country and could easily become a serious farmgirl if I had the critters and farmland! I think that is really what I love most about my mountain happy place..... it is very rural and rustic with lots of nature to enjoy.

We have been eating so good up here. This is the lasagna from one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the next town over...Talk about Good stuff!

We've also been doing a lot of this lately....

Laying around and rubbing some bellies!

Got to visit the casino in the town right next door to us, Cherokee...

Look what I got and look at what it paid! Great sight for not so much win!

I have also been antiquing and found some drop dead Gorgeous Victorian pieces!
I already have ideas swirling around for these pieces and will get right on them as soon as I get back home this week. Expect to see them all finished this coming weekend...

...and look at this Gutta Percha daguerreotype mourning case I found at Biltmore Village this weekend....

....I just love the detailed image on the outside (note the dog scratching himself) and really love the handsome fellow on the inside....

Have a wonderful week everyone. Au Revoir from the green lovely mountain tops....
See you back here very soon with new designs!!!
