Summer Candy...

Summer is right around the corner and how better to welcome it than with some new colorful rocks!!!
Our annual bead show came to town this past weekend and this is some of the gorgeous "rock candy" I scored at the show...

I really loved these vintage sterling tribal beads and hand rolled Lapis and turquoise strands...

...and there were lots of gorgeous cuts and shades of briolettes...

I also found some GORGEOUS pearls. Just perfect for summertime...

And.... GASP! Look at these insanely beautiful silvery South Sea Tahitian Pearls...

...these were definitely my absolute faves from the show!

I was so excited with my new strands, I got right down to business this past week designing with them. Here are a few pieces I finished and that will be coming to my Etsy shop on Sunday...

There is an antique English bird locket...

...an old Victorian compass with a beautifully detailed face....

...and an exquisitely carved antique Meerschaum from Lourdes, France...

...just look at the amazing carving and hand painting on this beauty...

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you all have a wonderful and safe Memorial weekend.

Coastal Chic...

Bonjour Francophiles! As promised, I wanted to share the country's best kept furniture secret...my fave furniture designer's Tony and Marisol Gullo and their fabulous store "Shabby Chic Boutique".
Lucky me, the store is 5 minutes from my house, so you can often find me in their store just drooling and dreaming over their latest creations.

They begin their process by finding old antique and vintage pieces of furniture (in my opinion the most well made furniture) and then finish them with their exquisite French shabby painting techniques. They also embellish the pieces with touches of glass, mesh, stenciling, lighting, textiles and other cool accessories to come up with the most gorgeous, unique and one of a kind "Coastal Chic" pieces you can find anywhere in the country. All of their pieces remind me of something you would find in an old rustic farmhouse in the rolling lavender hills of the French countryside.

Let me let their work speak for itself...

Look at this amazing desk...

...wouldn't it be awesome to sit and blog here?!?

And how clever is this piece?...

...burlap covered drawers on a shabby painted Deco dresser.

They have the prettiest handmade framed mirrors...

They also have many stunnung old farmhouse tables...

...and headboards made from old mantle pieces and doors...

...I just loved these blue velvet covered mid century chairs!

Look at this sweet antique needlework chair he re-finished...

Check out the hand stenciling inside the beautiful old china cabinet on the right...

And what about this gorgeous old French inspired sideboard...wouldn't it be beautiful with it's shelves covered in shells and coral???

Look at their beautiful handmade lighting that dresses the sides of this old hand finished headboard....

so smart, isn't it???

and here is my favorite piece...

...I have been dreaming about all of my vintage collections I could store inside of this stunning lighted cabinet!

If you see something you like, give them a call...they can give you a shipping quote. Tony and Marisol are such talented designers and are super friendly to deal with....
