Location, Location, Location!

Hello all my beautiful blog friends! Just wanted to share with you one of the great locations in Destin where I have my jewelry on display...Antiques on Holiday.  For the next four months, I will be featuring each of my four locations, one per month, where you can find my work...errr I mean passion. (Martha Stewart says never to call something you love-"work").   I am so very proud to be able to present my jewelry in such a beautiful place like Antiques on Holiday.  I took some pictures of the fabulous pieces that you can find in this big, yet elegant store...

Ann and Misty, the stores owners, have the most fabulous taste and always bring back the prettiest decor from Europe...

Isn't that chandelier the most gorgeous thing you've ever seen? The discs hanging off the bottom are thin shells.

You will always be able to find beautiful figural Madonnas and religious icons here too!

Check out that gorgeous peacock. He's really real...not alive though!
That's the sweet and beautiful, Misty, helping a customer by phone.
Notice in the foreground...the finger sponges. They have a really unique selection of shells and neat
items from the sea!
And.... the case where you can find my one of a kind jewelry. Stop by and say hello to the friendly ladies at Antiques on Holiday. The store is a real feast for the eyes, I'm sure you will not be disappointed!!

The "Heartbeat"

I've had many professional bloggers tell me in the past not to use music on my blog. I must admit I was so confused when they told me this because I really love the music on my blog and felt it really complimented the message I was trying to convey. I thought uh oh, I've made the ultimate blogging no no. Well,  I have to tell you guys, that I will be keeping my music up with my blog. I really feel that it is what sets my blog apart from everyone else's blog. It sets a tone for what you are about to see and read on my blog. It gives my work/art a "heartbeat"! Fashion designers don't put on fashion shows without music, ice skaters don't skate to silence, so therefore, Christine doesn't post her blog without music. I guess what I'm really trying to say in a nutshell, is that art walks hand in hand with art. In every aspect of the artistic world beautiful art will always compliment other artwork. The fabulous "Louvre" would be a primary example of that. The selection of music that I have chosen for my blog are both expressive and personal favorites. I really felt that with Eva Cassidy's voice, something magical begins to happen and you are taken to another place. Basically, the most important thing that great art is supposed to do. So to all the bloggers that don't care for music on their blogs, try to look at it from my point of view or you can always press your mute button... friends please let me know how you feel about my music...would love to hear your opinions.
The angels from Heaven sang to me yesterday when I found this beauty!!!

I have wanted one of these beautiful antique vanity stands from France for a very long time now. And I just so happened to luck up on one the other day. They are from the 1800's and were used by brides to rest their tiaras and wedding veils on. They usually would have a glass dome to cover the whole piece to protect them from dust. Unfortunately the dome on this piece had long been gone. Notice the gorgeous little bird on top holding the little wreath. Don't you think this would be pretty to photograph jewelry on?

A Whirlwind Journey...

Just got back from the beautiful Maggie Valley countryside up in North Carolina. The leaves aren't quite turning yet but the temperature was very refreshing compared to ours down here in Florida. Met some great new people and a wonderful dog named Chewy, did some really fun antiquing, and spent some quality time with good friends. Now that's what I call a great getaway!
The beautiful Maggie Valley

"Chewy" the Biker Dog

Some new treasure hunted goodies to work with...

...found these treasures while antiquing in Maggie Valley.

It's always great to get away, recharge the batteries, and get inspired with newly acquired treasures. As soon as I got home I couldn't wait to create using my new treasures. Here's the first piece I've completed upon my return home. It will be in my Etsy store if you want to see more pictures of it. I call this piece,

Smitten...

I fell completely, head over heels in love today...
with Chewy, the Biker Dog. This dog is so special, he rides a Harley with his driver-dad millions of miles all over the country for charities, bringing awareness and raising money for veterans, children, and other charitable organizations in need. He is just an awesome example of inspiration and greatness!

Isn't He Adorable!!(my hubby isn't so bad either!)

New Earrings and Beautiful Backsides...

Sacred Heart Earrings
Victorian Madonna Earrings

I just listed these two pair of earrings on my Etsy store.

Beautiful backsides...
I love to make the back of my necklaces as pretty as the front. It's such a nice surprise to see a lovely design on the back of a necklace.

Antiquing again... I just can't stop! I may have a problem.

I found these gorgeous goodies at Abrams Antiques in Destin. The owner loves jewelry and has alot of really gorgeous pieces. I've really been into sailfish lately, so I was thrilled to find two in one day. I'm so mesmerized by them. I think they have a magical quality, like Unicorns, except sailfish really exist!  Notice the smaller one, it is cut from an old British coin. The detailing on it is fabulous.
What are you inspired by and what drives your creativity?

Treasures...

While on my regular jewelry buying jaunts around town, I always come across treasures I really don't need, but absolutely want when I see them. My jewelry studio is starting to look like an antique mall of extreme proportions. Here are a few of the pieces I acquired the past couple of weeks, that I could not bear living without...

A beautiful Belgium chalk Madonna from Antiques on Holiday. Ms. Ann, one of the owners, with fabulous taste I might add, brought this back from her recent buying trip in Europe. Soooo gorgeous.......

I was admiring this the other day at Leonard's Antiques in Fort Walton Beach, and  realized I just had to have it. Now, where to put it.....

This beautiful well-loved leather covered Bible...believe it or not, I found at our local thrift store. It always amazes me when someone can discard something so well-loved. Notice the binding and cover falling apart on the inside. I thought this would be beautiful to photograph jewelry on. Whoever had this beautiful covered Bible, really loved it! It shows years of inspiration, love, and faith.

Such a sweet little vinatge hand-beaded purse from Japan. Another beautiful treasure from Antiques on Holiday. Just love this, and will use it when I go out dancing to the Tennessee Waltz (LOL)!
