Victorians loved their insect and nature inspired jewelry, and so do I!!! You will notice it is a recurring theme in my work and I find great inspiration from all things that once crawled, fluttered or flew. Victorian's inspiration for their insect jewelry came from the openings of natural history museums, Victoria and Albert's stunning Crystal Palace Exposition of the late 1800's, and explorations of faraway islands abroad. It was not uncommon for women of the time period to wear real authentic bugs on their lapels, ear lobes, or even in their locks....
