Almost There...

Bonjour mes amis, I just thought I would give you an update on my art room project. It's still coming along...but very slowly! You see, I ran into a small problem during the move, I lost the key to my antique sideboard that I use for storing the majority of my bits and baubles. And without any way to get in my sideboard, I have no way to get organized! Leave it to me to misplace the skeleton key to my sideboard during the move, it was only the most important thing I had to keep up with. LOL. But in the meantime, here are a few pictures of some of the partially finished places of the room...

I turned the closet into the computer station...

...and cheers to my sweet hubby, it took him 2 days and 5 trips to the hardware store to get my chandelier up. These vintage old chandeliers have some of the strangest pieces and parts to them...

Stay tuned for the chicken coop turned display cabinet. Yes, I said chicken coop, but it's the cutest little cabinet I have ever seen. Pictures on the way in the coming days!

Here's a new piece....

...that I actually made for myself!

I've had this locket (that would not keep closed) for a while now, and I decided to turn it into something special and sentimental...

I placed a lock of my very first dog's hair inside of the locket and sealed it permanently shut. I had been wanting to make a special piece with a memory of him attached to it for a very long time now and I finally had a chance. He has been gone for 3 years now and I still miss him terribly! That's a picture of him below...

I made my special piece to be worn multiple ways...
Do you have sentimental memento of a special person that you like to wear or keep close to your heart?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend my friends!!!

What a nice and very pretty way to remember your sweet dog.
Love what I have seen so far on your new studio.
Enjoy your weekend. It is going to be hot here - again, so will probably be inside a lot.

What a beautiful necklace...and your words brought tears to my eyes....i too had a dog who was so special to our family..she died 5 years ago at the age of 19 !......it never occurred to me to keep a lock of her hair...after reading this...oh, how i wish i had.......Molly loved to sleep in a big lavender bush in the backyard...i will never cut it down, as I always think of her.
